There is an All American spin-off in the works and the spin-off will be based on an unsuspecting character.

The All American spin-off is still in the dealmaking stages but if it gets greenlit it will center on Simone Hicks character, played by Geffri Maya.

Maya’s character Simone was introduced on All American‘s second season. She was introduced as a girl that let Jordan Baker ( (Michael Evans Behling) believe he was the father of her unborn child. It turned out that the father is a student at Simone’s previous school, Westlake High. Since the revelation was revealed Simone and Jordan have started dating.

The potential All American spin-off would revolve around Simone as she attends a historically Black college. The potential spin-off would be introduced in an episode of All American‘s upcoming third season as Simone enters her senior year at Beverly High and is still dating Jordan Baker.

Reps for The CW and Warner Bros. declined to comment. The two companies also are working a potential spin-off of Black Lightning, which will originate as a backdoor pilot on the mothership series.

Lamon Archey and GG Townson join season 3 of the CW series in a recurring position.

Archey , who guest-starred in the Season 2 finale of the sports drama returns in a recurring position. He plays Superintendent D’Angelo Carter, who finished last season with a large-scale proposal to convert South Crenshaw to a Magnet School, effectively gentrifying the surrounding neighborhood at warp speed under the guise of urban revitalization.

Townson will play Lil Jewel, a singer working on her upcoming album and another one of JP’s artists. While she can come across as a little self-serving, there is much more to her than meets the eye.

When the series returns, things will look very different. Spencer (Daniel Ezra), whose arm may not have properly healed, and Billy (Taye Diggs) begin the school year at Crenshaw High School, while everyone else returns to Beverly Hills High to kick off the fall semester. Spencer is working to attempt to stop Crenshaw from becoming a magnet school while convincing his Beverly High friends that nothing will change now that he’s at a different school, Jordan is quick to remind him, “Except for the color of your jersey.”

Coach Baker is now the head coach of South Crenshaw High School where Spencer is playing. There Baker faces his own challenges including one that pins him up against a ruthless school principal, who warns Billy, “Good luck scraping your team together” after he raises the required grade point average for students to play school sports.

Other lingering threads that will need to be addressed: Olivia’s (Samantha Logan) relapse with alcohol and Asher’s (Cody Christian) possible reconciliation with his estranged mother. Also the return of Tyrone’s sister, likely spelling doom for Coop (Bre-Z), Layla (Greta Onieogou) divulges “the biggest summer secret ever” to Simone (fully aware that it could “blow up in everyone’s faces”). And the show addresses the Black Lives Matter movement on the heels of real-life protests against police brutality and racial injustice.

Karimah Westbrook, Monét Mazur, Demetrius Shipp Jr., Jalyn Hall, Spence Moore II, and Chelsea Tavares also co-star in the show with Tavares being upped to a series regular.
