In a significant move cementing his creative dominance in the entertainment industry, Tyler Perry has renewed his partnership with Paramount through its BET Media division. This multi-year agreement encompasses a broad range of content delivery, including the renewal of existing shows and the launch of a new series titled “Tyler Perry’s Route 187.”
Under this expansive deal, Perry will produce hundreds of new episodes for BET and its streaming platform, BET+. The lineup includes renewals for ten current series and the greenlighting of “Route 187,” a crime drama set for debut in 2025. The series will be executive produced, directed and written by Perry. It’s believed to be a crime drama about violence that takes place on a bus route.
Among the renewed series are fan favorites like “Tyler Perry’s Sistas,” now entering its eighth season and hailed as the top series among Black 18-49 viewers across all TV on BET. Other renewals include “Tyler Perry’s The Oval” for a sixth season, “Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living” for a sixth season, and “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” for its fifth season on BET, marking its eleventh season overall.

The BET+ platform will also see renewed seasons of “Tyler Perry’s ZATIMA,” “Tyler Perry’s Ruthless,” “All The Queen’s Men,” and “Tyler Perry’s BRUH.”
All of these shows will continue to be spearheaded by Perry himself, who serves as executive producer, director, and writer, showcasing his multifaceted talents across the board.

This agreement extends Perry’s longstanding collaboration with Paramount, originally forged in 2017 under Viacom’s banner. Since then, Perry has consistently delivered compelling content, surpassing the initial deal’s expectations with over 700 episodes produced for BET and BET+. His impact extends beyond traditional TV, as he is also a minority owner of the BET+ streaming platform.
