The Wayans family is officially back in the building. Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans, Sydney Park, and Gregg Wayans-Benson are among 14 new additions to the ever-growing cast of Scary Movie 6.
Joining them are Saturday Night Live alum Heidi Gardner and fellow SNL vet Cheri Oteri, who returns to the spoof-horror franchise alongside Chris Elliott. Newcomers Olivia Rose Keegan, Savannah Lee Nassif, Cameron Scott Roberts, Ruby Snowber, and Benny Zielke have also signed on for undisclosed roles.
Currently filming, the sixth installment will reunite franchise staples including Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall, Anna Faris, Lochlyn Munro, Dave Sheridan, and Jon Abrahams. While character details for the newcomers are being kept tightly under wraps, the return of Oteri and Elliott has sparked nostalgia for fans of the early 2000s originals. Oteri first appeared in Scary Movie (2000) as news reporter Gail Hailstorm, a parody of Scream’s Gale Weathers, while Elliott brought to life the unforgettable creepy caretaker Hanson in Scary Movie 2 before reappearing in Scary Movie 4 as a different character entirely — because, well, Scary Movie logic.
Written by Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans, alongside longtime collaborator Rick Alvarez, the film is being directed by Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House, Naked). Miramax is producing, with Jonathan Glickman, Alexandra Loewy, and Thom Zadra serving as executive producers.
Paramount will release Scary Movie 6 worldwide on June 12, 2026, as part of its first-look deal with Miramax.
After more than a decade away, the Wayans family returning to the series that helped define 2000s comedy feels like a full-circle moment — one that’s bound to deliver the kind of parody chaos that made Scary Movie a cultural staple in the first place.
