EBONY Media Group Unveils 2025 EBONY Power 100 Special Honorees, Hosted by Robin Thede

EBONY Media Group has announced its 2025 EBONY Power 100 Special Honorees, celebrating the leaders, innovators, and cultural icons shaping the present and future of Black excellence.

Hosted by comedian, writer, and actress Robin Thede, the Power 100 Gala will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. As EBONY marks its 80th year, the annual event continues its legacy of honoring those whose work moves the culture forward.

Leading this year’s list is Teyana Taylor – Entertainer of the Year (sponsored by Moët Hennessy USA), recognized as a visionary artist redefining what it means to be a true multihyphenate in music, film, fashion, and creative direction.

Joining her are several icons whose influence extends far beyond their industries:

  • Tracee Ellis Ross – Pathbreaker of the Year Award (sponsored by Secret, P&G, and Olay Body): Applauded for her artistry and for pushing boundaries of representation in entertainment and beauty.
  • Olandria Carthen – People’s Choice Award: The Love Island USA favorite, voted by fans as a rising voice in Black pop culture and a face of authenticity in entertainment.
  • Iman – Icon of the Year Award: Celebrated for her 50-year pioneering career in fashion and her enduring role as a philanthropist and advocate.
  • Lonnie G. Bunch III – Humanitarian of the Year Award: Honored for his leadership as the 14th Secretary of the Smithsonian and his commitment to education and cultural preservation.
  • Shaquille O’Neal – Entrepreneur of the Year Award (sponsored by Walmart): Recognized for his evolution from NBA legend to global business titan and community philanthropist.

As part of this year’s celebration, EBONY also announced category sponsors highlighting Black brilliance in every field — including Nationwide (Community Crusaders), AARP (Media Mavens), and United Airlines (STEM Trailblazers).

Guests will also experience the Glam Suite presented by Mielle, with additional support from Moët Hennessy USA, Ladurée, and Fever-Tree — adding an extra touch of elegance to EBONY’s biggest night of the year.

Led by CEO Eden Bridgeman Sklenar, EBONY Media Group continues to champion Black excellence, storytelling, and innovation through one of culture’s most anticipated annual celebrations.
