“One Battle After Another,” Paul Thomas Anderson’s blistering, darkly comedic portrait of a society buckling under political violence, dominated the 2026 Golden Globe Awards nominations Monday morning with nine nods. It was closely followed by “Sentimental Value” — a wrenching family drama — with eight nominations, and “Sinners,” Ryan Coogler’s Southern-set vampire thriller, with seven.
Because the Globes split films between drama and musical/comedy, these contenders won’t go head-to-head for the top prize. “One Battle After Another” landed in the musical or comedy category alongside “Blue Moon,” “Bugonia,” “Marty Supreme,” “No Other Choice” and “Nouvelle Vague.” Meanwhile, “Sentimental Value” and “Sinners” are competing in drama, joined by “Frankenstein,” “Hamnet,” “It Was Just an Accident,” and “The Secret Agent.”
On the TV side, “The White Lotus” continued its awards-season streak with six nominations, while “Adolescence”, the one-take crime saga, followed closely with five. “Only Murders in the Building” and “Severance” earned four nominations each.
