The 2026 Lexus Uptown Honors Hollywood awardees have been announced, spotlighting four actors whose careers reflect both range and longevity: Mario Van Peebles, Taye Diggs, Wood Harris and Omar Benson Miller.
Held during Oscar Week, the annual ceremony continues its mission of intentionally celebrating Black excellence in film and television. The event takes place March 11 in Los Angeles, hosted by Chris Spencer and Tai Beauchamp.
Mario Van Peebles – Icon of Achievement Award
Van Peebles will receive the Icon of Achievement Award, recognizing a nearly six-decade career that includes directing New Jack City and carrying forward the legacy of his father, Melvin Van Peebles. His work has long bridged independence and industry.
Taye Diggs – Impact and Excellence Award
Diggs earns the Impact and Excellence Award for a career spanning How Stella Got Her Groove Back, The Best Man and All American. He continues expanding his footprint with upcoming projects in both network television and the growing vertical drama space.
Wood Harris – Fearless Trailblazer Award
Harris will be honored with the Fearless Trailblazer Award, celebrating standout performances from The Wire to the Creed franchise, along with his recent appearance in Forever.
Omar Benson Miller – Amplified Impact Award
Miller receives the Amplified Impact Award for a career that stretches from 8 Mile to HBO’s Ballers and most recently Sinners directed by Ryan Coogler.
For over 16 years, Uptown’s Oscar Week gathering has served as a reminder that recognition and cultural impact do not always move in tandem — and that spaces built to honor Black creatives remain essential.
