2025 was a major year for Teyana Taylor, and she’s stepping into 2026 riding high on critical acclaim, commercial success, and industry recognition. Last year, she starred in Hulu’s All’s Fair, which, despite mixed reviews, became the platform’s most-streamed original scripted debut in three years and earned a second-season renewal. She also appeared in Tyler Perry’s Straw, which quickly landed in Netflix’s Top 10. Alongside her album Escape Room, Taylor released a short film that earned her first Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album.
But it’s One Battle After Another that has truly cemented her as a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood. Her performance has already brought multiple award nominations—including Critics’ Choice, Golden Globe, and Chicago Film Critics Association nods for Best Supporting Actress—with Oscar buzz already building.
With that momentum, Teyana isn’t slowing down. Here’s a look at five projects she has lined up for 2026 and beyond:
RIP (Netflix) | January 16, 2026
Taylor stars alongside Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Sasha Calle in this Netflix crime thriller directed by Joe Carnahan. The story follows a group of Miami police officers who uncover millions of dollars in an abandoned stash house. As greed and mistrust grow, external threats challenge the team, sparking a tense battle for survival. The ensemble also features Scott Adkins, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Nestor Carbonell.

Slime
In her first major voice role for an animated feature, Taylor joins an all-star cast including Willow Smith, Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, John Cho, John Boyega, Anna Sawai, Winston Duke, and LaKeith Stanfield. Directed by Sundance prize-winner Jeron Braxton, Slime is a dystopian adventure following Muna (Smith), who gains uncontrollable powers after participating in a paid clinical trial. Forced to flee with a lab worker she kidnaps, she navigates a collapsing world to decide whether she’s humanity’s savior or its greatest threat.

72 Hours
Taylor stars alongside Ben Marshall, Zach Cherry, Kam Patterson, Marcello Hernández, and Mason Gooding in this upcoming comedy directed by Tim Story. The film follows a 40-year-old executive mistakenly added to a group text, who ends up crashing a wild three-day bachelor party in Miami. The film promises chaos, laughs, and plenty of Netflix-style hijinks, continuing Taylor’s ongoing collaboration with the streamer.

Get Lite | Directorial Debut
Taylor makes her directorial debut with Get Lite, a feature centered on New York City’s Litefeet dance culture. Starring Storm Reid, who also produces, the film follows a young man torn between academic pursuits and a passion for dance, guided by Reid’s character, a charismatic beatmaker. Produced by Kenya Barris, Bill Karesh, and Taylor herself, the project draws on her Harlem roots and lifelong love of dance.

Dionne Warwick Biopic
Taylor takes on the iconic role of Dionne Warwick in a highly anticipated biopic. She has worked closely with Warwick and her son to ensure an authentic portrayal of the legendary singer. Warwick herself has praised Taylor’s dedication, noting, “She knows more about me than I know about me.” Production is set to begin soon, promising a compelling and heartfelt exploration of the singer’s life and career.
