Aldis Hodge Joins Jake Gyllenhaal in ‘Road House 2’ for Amazon MGM Studios

Amazon MGM Studios is doubling down on its Road House reboot with some serious star power. Aldis Hodge has officially joined the cast of Road House 2, starring alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. Dave Bautista and Leila George were recently announced as part of the lineup as well, with Ilya Naishuller set to direct from a script by Will Beall.

Plot details are under wraps, but fans will remember the 2024 reboot where Gyllenhaal played an ex-UFC fighter turned bouncer in the Florida Keys. That film, directed by Doug Liman, was a fresh reimagining of the cult classic. Now, the sequel is moving forward with Gyllenhaal returning and new faces joining the mix.

The film is being produced by Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Alex Gartner, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Josh McLaughlin for Nine Stories Productions.

Hodge’s casting strengthens Amazon’s ongoing relationship with the actor, who currently headlines the Prime Video hit Cross. The series, based on James Patterson’s novels, has already been renewed for a second season, with Hodge returning as iconic detective Alex Cross. On the film side, Hodge’s resume includes Black Adam, Regina King’s One Night in Miami, and Straight Outta Compton.

As for Leila George, she’s staying booked and busy—currently in production on Ryan Murphy’s American Love Story and recently earning a Critics Choice Award nomination for her performance in Alfonso Cuarón’s Disclaimer.

Between Gyllenhaal, Hodge, Bautista, and George, Road House 2 is shaping up to be a high-energy sequel with plenty of intrigue both inside and outside the bar.
