‘All American’ and ‘All American: Homecoming’ Stars Expand Into Indie Film With Short Films The Fight and Vipers [VIDEO]

Actors from All American and All American: Homecoming are continuing to expand their creative footprint beyond the CW franchise, stepping into independent filmmaking through two new short film projects.

Flagship series stars Michael Evans Behling and Greta Onieogou appear in the dark comedy Vipers, while All American: Homecoming actors Netta Walker and Martin Bobb-Semple lead the romance drama The Fight. Though the actors are not all featured in the same project, the shorts collectively highlight how members of the All American universe are carving out space in the indie film world through collaboration, producing, and creator-driven storytelling.

The Fight Explores Love, Culture, and Conflict

Written and directed by filmmaker Magan Rutledge, The Fight is an intimate romance drama inspired by a true story that explores the complexities of a multicultural relationship.

The short follows Violet and Jamie, played by Netta Walker and Martin Bobb-Semple, a deeply connected mixed-race couple whose future is shaken after a tense dinner meeting with Violet’s mother erupts into an argument that tests the strength of their relationship.

Described as a lyrical portrait of modern intimacy, the film examines how spaces typically associated with comfort — family, food, and cultural tradition — can quickly become sources of conflict.

Walker also serves as a producer on the project, which incorporates both English and Tagalog dialogue while drawing influence from Filipino culture and identity.

The Fight premiered on YouTube around Valentine’s Day 2026 and has already been selected for the Beverly Hills Film Festival, with early discussions centered on expanding the short into a feature-length film.

Vipers Brings Dark Comedy and Social Chaos

Meanwhile, Michael Evans Behling and Greta Onieogou reunite in the dark comedy Vipers, directed by Kevin Clark-Ryan and co-written with Paige VanTassell.

The film centers on Mitzi (Michelle DeShon), a sheltered farm girl attempting to win over her fiancé’s elite Los Angeles friend group during what should be a welcoming dinner party. Instead, the evening spirals into a tense social showdown fueled by long-held grudges, secrets, and shifting loyalties.

Behling and Onieogou star alongside Kelly Sry (Good American Family) and Jack Lancaster (The Bear, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story).

At its core, Vipers explores toxic friendships, insecurity within social circles, and the challenge of asserting one’s place in unfamiliar spaces — themes the filmmakers say felt especially timely in the wake of Hollywood’s 2023 industry strikes.

Expanding Beyond the All American Franchise

Known for launching a new generation of young television talent, the All American franchise continues to serve as a springboard for actors pursuing creative work outside traditional network television.

While All American: Homecoming concluded following its third season, the flagship series will return for an eighth and final season on The CW in 2026. The 13-episode final run is expected to deliver a closing chapter that brings together multiple generations of characters from both Crenshaw and Beverly Hills.

Following major cast shifts in Season 7, returning series regulars include Michael Evans Behling, Greta Onieogou, and Bre-Z, alongside newer additions Osy Ikhile and Nathaniel McIntyre, with Antonio J. Bell and Alexis Chikaeze also elevated to series regular status.

As the long-running drama prepares to wrap its final chapter, projects like The Fight and Vipers signal what’s next for many of its stars — a move toward more personal, independent storytelling beyond the franchise that helped introduce them to audiences.
