Danielle Nicolet steps behind the camera for the first time with the suspenseful crime thriller ‘Long Time Listener,’ premiering April 2 on AMC Networks’ ALLBLK streaming platform.
Blending noir-inspired tension with a modern podcasting backdrop, Long Time Listener centers on the dark side of true-crime culture. When Elle (Nicolet) becomes the target of a mysterious fan known only as a “long time listener,” the attention she once welcomed quickly turns into a threat. As secrets from her past begin to surface, she finds herself pulled into a dangerous web that blurs the line between storyteller and victim.
The film also features Meagan Holder as Genesis and Lyriq Bent as Carter. Cleo Berry appears as Max, with Lisha Wheeler portraying Ruby. Torrei Hart (Atlanta Exes) also makes a cameo appearance.
The film marks a new chapter for Nicolet who in addition to directing, also stars in the film as Elle, a true-crime podcaster whose growing notoriety puts her in unexpected danger.
Produced by Joe Narode (Shamed, Pardoned by Grace), the 85-minute thriller is part of a multi-film distribution agreement between ALLBLK and GreenApple Entertainment, a producer-distributor known for its catalog of films featuring multicultural casts and female-driven stories.
With its focus on obsession, storytelling, and the psychological cost of public attention, Long Time Listener taps into the real-world fascination with true-crime media while exploring how easily the narrative can shift when the storyteller becomes the subject.
The suspense thriller premieres April 2 on ALLBLK.
