Anthony Anderson has signed on for Chris Rock’s new directorial project at A24, adding more star power to the growing ensemble.
The currently untitled film follows Misty Green (Rosalind Eleazar), a gifted actress whose career has been derailed—until someone from her past offers her a chance at a comeback.
Anderson joins Eleazar alongside Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Topher Grace, Kelli Garner (Lars and the Real Girl), Amy Landecker (Transparent), and Rich Sommer (Mad Men). Rock, who also co-stars, is directing from his own script and producing with Peter Rice and David Worthen Brooks. Executive producers include Nelson George, Shaum Sengupta, and Miles Alva. Production is underway in Los Angeles.
Anderson, best known for his award-winning run on ABC’s Black-ish, most recently appeared opposite Viola Davis in Prime Video’s political action thriller G20.
The project has had an interesting journey: first announced in late 2024 under the title Misty Green with Neon, it shifted to A24 this summer before cameras started rolling in L.A.
With Rock behind the camera and a cast that bridges prestige, comedy, and blockbuster energy, this is one film that’s already generating major anticipation.
