Apple TV+ has unveiled a first-look image and premiere details for Imperfect Women, a new limited psychological thriller led by Emmy Award winners Kerry Washington and Elisabeth Moss, who also executive produce the series.
The eight-episode drama will debut globally on Wednesday, March 18, launching with its first two episodes. New episodes will roll out weekly through April 29.
Adapted from Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name, Imperfect Women centers on a decades-long friendship between three women that is violently disrupted by a shocking crime. As an investigation unfolds, buried secrets and unspoken compromises rise to the surface, challenging the idea that even the closest relationships are built on truth. The series blends emotional intimacy with suspense, examining guilt, betrayal, love, and the lasting consequences of choices made long ago.
In addition to Washington and Moss, the ensemble cast includes Kate Mara, Joel Kinnaman, Corey Stoll, Leslie Odom Jr., Sheryl Lee Ralph, Rome Flynn, Ana Ortiz, Keith Carradine, Wilson Bethel, and more.
The series was created for television by Annie Weisman, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. The project marks Weisman’s latest collaboration with Apple TV+ following the acclaimed dramedy Physical. Kay Oyegun joins as writer and executive producer, while Lesli Linka Glatter directs and executive produces the premiere episode.
Moss executive produces alongside Lindsey McManus through Love & Squalor Pictures, the banner that initially optioned Hall’s novel. Washington executive produces via Simpson Street, alongside Pilar Savone. Hall herself is also on board as an executive producer. The series is a co-production between 20th Television and Apple Studios.
With two of television’s most acclaimed leading women at the center—and a creative team known for character-driven storytelling—Imperfect Women positions itself as Apple TV+’s next prestige thriller, built on tension, emotional complexity, and the unraveling of carefully constructed lives.
