Ashley Thomas has been tapped as a series regular in FX’s untitled Witness Protection pilot.
The project, from FX Productions, is a contemporary take on an unproduced script by David Chase. The story follows Remy (Alison Brie), a high-end D.C. madam who, after a violent confrontation, turns on her partner and enters witness protection in seaside Maine with her adolescent daughter (Antonella Rose).
Thomas will play Isaac, Remy’s stern but caring FBI handler. Finn Wittrock is set as Remy’s charming yet manipulative ex-business partner.
Alongside Brie, Wittrock, Rose, and Thomas, the series also stars Pablo Schreiber, Zoë Chao, and Jamie Neumann, with Aidan Gillen joining as a recurring/guest star. Gillen will portray Carl Milliken III, a business executive who identifies more with his corporate facade than the military contractors he negotiates with.
The pilot comes from writers, executive producers, and showrunners Hannah Fidell and Gina Welch.
For Thomas, this marks a return to FX following his role in Great Expectations with Olivia Colman, which earned him a Royal Television Society Award nomination. His recent credits include Netflix’s Hostage, Channel 4’s In Flight, Starz’s The Serpent Queen, and Hulu’s Black Cake.
