Aurora Perrineau Joins Cast of Prime Video’s Every Year After, Series Adaptation of BookTok Favorite ‘Every Summer After’

Aurora Perrineau has officially joined the cast of Every Year After, Prime Video’s upcoming adaptation of Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel Every Summer After. The romantic drama, originally announced under a different title in 2024, is set to premiere globally on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories, with a release date to be announced.

Perrineau (Kaos, Westworld) will play Chantal alongside lead stars Sadie Soverall (Saltburn, Fate: The Winx Saga) as Percy and Matt Cornett (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) as Sam. Rounding out the ensemble are Abigail Cowen (The Ritual, Fate: The Winx Saga) as Delilah, Michael Bradway (Chicago Fire) as Charlie, and Joseph Chiu (Fear Street: Prom Queen) as Jordie.

Told over the course of six years and one week in the picturesque lake town of Barry’s Bay, Every Year After is described as a romantic and nostalgic story of first loves and the choices that shape us forever.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this fabulous cast!” Fortune said in a statement. “This is an enormously talented group of actors whose auditions made me laugh, swoon, and cry. I know they’ll have fans of Every Summer After falling in love with their favorite characters all over again.”

Amy B. Harris (Sex and the City, The Carrie Diaries) serves as showrunner and executive producer, taking over from Leila Gerstein, who was initially attached. Fortune also executive produces alongside Lindsey Liberatore, Amy Rardin, John Stephens, and Grace Gilroy. Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky are on board as writers and consulting producers.

The original novel gained massive popularity through BookTok, with the Every Summer After hashtag surpassing 81 million views on TikTok. The book spent 14 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and has sold over 1 million copies since its 2022 debut. Fortune’s other titles include This Summer Will Be Different and Meet Me at the Lake.

The series marks a high-profile adaptation in the romance genre for Prime Video, drawing comparisons to hit teen and young adult series like The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Stay tuned for the official release date and trailer.
