Awdo Awdo Joins Netflix’s One Piece Season 3 as Mr. 1

Netflix’s One Piece continues to expand its world, and Season 3 just added another heavy hitter. Awdo Awdo has officially joined the cast in the role of Mr. 1, one of the Baroque Works agents fans have been waiting to see brought to life. Awdo is currently in Cape Town where production on the new season is underway.

Season 3 marks the next chapter in Netflix’s hit live-action adventure, which adapts Eiichiro Oda’s globally beloved manga — the highest-selling manga series in Japan. With production rolling in South Africa, the streamer is stacking its cast with familiar faces, fan favorites, and new foes ready to test the Straw Hats like never before.

While plot specifics remain under wraps, Season 2 — premiering March 10 — sets the stage for the Straw Hats’ entry into the Grand Line, where Season 3 will pick up. The next wave of episodes promises bigger threats and even stranger islands as Luffy continues his quest to find the One Piece and claim the title of King of the Pirates.

With Baroque Works agents stepping further into the spotlight, Awdo Awdo’s Mr. 1 and Daisy Head’s Miss Doublefinger signal a deeper dive into one of One Piece’s most iconic arcs.

Who’s Returning — and Who’s Rising in the Ranks

Netflix has confirmed that Season 3 will retain its core Straw Hat crew:

  • Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy
  • Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro
  • Emily Rudd as Nami
  • Jacob Romero as Usopp
  • Taz Skylar as Sanji

Also returning is Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday.

Several Season 2 actors have been promoted to series regulars for Season 3, including:

  • Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper
  • Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0
  • Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday
  • Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefartari Cobra

New Faces Joining the Grand Line

Alongside Awdo Awdo’s arrival as Mr. 1, Netflix previously revealed additional Season 3 cast members:

  • Xolo Maridueña (Blue Beetle) as Portgas D. Ace
  • Cole Escola (Oh, Mary!) as Bon Clay
  • Daisy Head (Shadow and Bone) as Miss Doublefinger

More casting is expected to be announced as filming continues.

The series continues to be produced in partnership with Shueisha, Tomorrow Studios, and Netflix, with Eiichiro Oda closely involved as an executive producer. Matt Owens and Joe Tracz return as co-showrunners for Season 2, with Tracz teaming up with Ian Stokes to lead Season 3. Production is already underway in Cape Town, keeping the momentum strong as the live-action world of One Piece expands with new characters, bigger locations, and the next major arc of Luffy’s journey.
