BET+ has officially announced the premiere date for its latest original film Son of the Preacher, debuting exclusively on the platform Thursday, November 27. Alongside the announcement, the streamer dropped the official trailer, offering a first look at the romance-meets-megachurch drama.
Son of the Preacher follows Jasmine (Gabrielle Graham), a whip-smart beauty entrepreneur determined to launch her own haircare brand but struggling to break through. Her path crosses with Caleb Samuel (Chris LeBlanc) — the charismatic, social media–famous son of a megachurch dynasty whose three million followers and flashy lifestyle don’t fully mask his complicated family ties. What begins as Jasmine’s strategic push to secure a business deal unexpectedly evolves into a connection neither of them saw coming.
Directed by Marvin Towns Jr. and written by Justin Kelly, the film also stars Darren Herbert as Reverend Samuel, Rachel Crawford as Reverend Mildred Samuel, Ronnie Rowe as Pastor John Miles, Tkaia Green as India, and Karen Burthwright as Joy Carmichael.
Son of the Preacher boasts an extensive producing team. Executive producers include Lisa Mathis, Krista Suh, Matt Allen, Marvin Towns Jr., Jason Harvey, Rose Catherine Pinkney, Gabrielle Graham, Branch Out Productions, and Spaceman Films. Ryan Keller and Robert Fisher also serve as executive producers, with Maddie Zekkou, James Griffith, Tomas Street, Jennifer Mathewson, and Nicole Hilliard Forde as co-executive producers.
