KevOnStage is bringing double the laughs to BET+ this year.
The streamer announced that Churchy, Kevin “KevOnStage” Fredericks’ breakout comedy, will return for its second season on August 21 with all 10 episodes dropping at once. But that’s not all—BET+ is also doubling down on their partnership with the comedian and content creator by greenlighting The Hospital, a brand new sketch comedy series debuting September 10.
Created by and starring Fredericks, Churchy season 2 follows Pastor Corey Carr Jr., who has now taken over Bethlehem Temple—only to inherit not just the pulpit but a surprise book of debts. Season 2 sees Pastor Corey and his wildly unqualified church staff trying to hold it together while fending off a rival pastor trying to turn their church into a trampoline park.
Fredericks returns in the lead role, alongside series regulars Mark J.P. Hood, Lexi Allen, Anthony Elfonzia, Quin Walters, and Tahir Moore. New faces joining this season include Jasmine Luv and Nic Few, with guest appearances from Tabitha Brown, Kirk Franklin, Keith Lee, and Tony Baker.
Churchy originally premiered last year and quickly became the most-watched scripted comedy on BET+ during its debut week. It later made its way to BET’s linear network, further expanding its reach.
Fredericks executive produces the series alongside Melissa Fredericks under their KevOnStage Studios banner. Writers Richard A. Washington and David Murphy penned the series, which is also executive produced by LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, and Lezlie Wills for The SpringHill Company.
Up next: The Hospital, a new satirical sketch comedy series that takes viewers inside “the most incompetent medical facility in the country.” The show blends improv and scripted comedy for a wild ride through complete medical mayhem and “total medical negligence.”
The Hospital stars KevOnStage, Tony Baker, Chris “CP” Powell, D’Lai, Dinora Walcott, Quin Walters, Tahir Moore, Candice Renee, Tamara Jade, Patrick Cloud, Mel Mitchell, Jordan Conley, Loren Lott, and Jazmine Robinson. The series is created, showrun, and directed by Fredericks and Washington, with Melissa Fredericks also on board as EP.
Both projects mark BET’s continued investment in creators who are social-first and already have built-in communities—KevOnStage alone has millions of followers across platforms.
With Churchy and The Hospital arriving back-to-back, KevOnStage is building a full-blown comedy universe on BET+, and we’re just here for the ride.
