BET+ just unveiled the trailer for its gripping new original film Peripheral, a psychological sci-fi thriller set to premiere Thursday, August 7 exclusively on the streamer.
Set in a remote Arizona town, Peripheral follows Sasha Warwick (Andria Langston), a former photographer quietly unraveling after a stillbirth and the emotional silence that’s followed. Her attempt to start over in a new town is upended when her husband Ramone (Patrick Walker), a rising biochemist, vanishes under mysterious circumstances. Sasha’s search for answers doesn’t just raise red flags—it cracks reality wide open.
As she begins to question everything around her, Sasha is pulled into a chilling spiral of secrecy, surveillance, and something far more cosmic than she ever imagined. What starts as a psychological drama slowly builds into a terrifying exploration of identity, grief, and the horror that can live in the familiar. Sasha isn’t just trying to find Ramone—she’s fighting to hold on to what’s real.
Patrick Walker stars as Ramone Warwick, a man whose ambition once grounded him, but whose reappearance after an unexplained absence is more disturbing than reassuring. What happened to Ramone—and who is he now? His shift from dependable to unpredictable forces Sasha to confront the terrifying possibility that even the people we love most might not be who they seem.
At the core of it all is Langston’s performance as Sasha, a woman quietly breaking apart while finding the strength to look deeper. Emotionally guarded yet razor-sharp, Sasha transforms from grieving wife to determined truth-seeker, unwilling to look away no matter how strange—or dangerous—the truth becomes.
Peripheral was created by Sulayman Tahir and Jordan Tortorello, with Tahir also directing and writing the film. Music is by Jayden Grey, and the project is produced by Jordan Tortorello, with executive production from Chris Tortorello. Andria Langston and Dallas Hart also serve as producers.
Peripheral premieres August 7 on BET+, and if the trailer is any indication, viewers should buckle up for a mind-bending ride.
