Brandy Norwood is keeping it in the family this holiday season. The Grammy Award-winning singer and actress will star opposite her real-life daughter, Sy’Rai Smith, in the upcoming Lifetime holiday movie Christmas Everyday—marking Smith’s acting debut. The film will also serve as the tentpole title for the network’s annual It’s a Wonderful Lifetime slate, with more titles set to be announced in the coming weeks.
In Christmas Everyday, Norwood plays Francine “Fancy” Ballantine, a devoted fashion designer trying to juggle her thriving career with growing family obligations. After the passing of her beloved father, Fancy is determined to uphold his cherished Christmas traditions—especially as her mother, Evelyn (played by Debbi Morgan), begins to lose her eyesight.
The pressure intensifies when Fancy is tasked with planning her baby sister Belle’s (Smith) wedding—Belle being every bit the bridezilla. When a pipe bursts and throws a wrench in the fairytale wedding plans, Fancy ends up working closely with Jaylen (Robert Christopher Riley), the rugged yet charming contractor hired to fix the home. Amid the chaos, unexpected sparks fly, and Fancy rediscovers the true meaning of Christmas through faith, family, and love.
Also joining the cast is Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman (UnReal) as Germaine, Fancy’s loyal and fashion-forward co-worker.
Brandy, who also executive produces the film, will debut her 2023 holiday song “Christmas Everyday” in the project.
“The holidays are always about family as part of the festivities, so I’m beyond thrilled to be partnering with Lifetime on this magical holiday project and having my own daughter star with me – even though we are playing sisters!” Brandy shared in a statement. “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime has become such a beloved tradition, and I’m honored to star and executive produce.”
Directed by Roger Bobb, Christmas Everyday is written by Meg DeLoatch and Cameron Ross. The film is produced by Fox Entertainment Studios, with executive producers including Brandy Norwood, Stella Bulochnikov, Dr. Holly Carter, Ryan Ramsey, and the Fox Entertainment Studios team of Fernando Szew, Hannah Pillemer, Larry Grimaldi, and Adam Shepard. Fox Entertainment Global will handle international distribution.
Christmas Everyday will premiere later this year on Lifetime as part of its 2025 holiday lineup.
