Bre-Z, Karim Diané, Gina Yashere & Kerrice Brooks Among Honorees at 3rd Annual Critics Choice LGBTQ+ Celebration

Bre-Z, Karim Diané, Gina Yashere, and Kerrice Brooks are among those set to be honored at the third annual Celebration of LGBTQ+ Cinema & Television, hosted by the Critics Choice Association. The event will take place May 29 in Los Angeles.

They join a wider group of honorees including Jane Lynch, Dan Levy, Paula Pell, Hannah Einbinder, Brandon Scott Jones, Dearbhla Walsh, Jacob Tierney, Noah Schnapp, and The Boulet Brothers—all being recognized for their contributions to LGBTQ+ storytelling across film and television.

The annual event highlights both emerging and established voices within the LGBTQ+ entertainment community, celebrating the impact these artists continue to have both on-screen and behind the scenes.

Among this year’s honors, Bre-Z will receive the Performance Award for a Drama Series for her role in All American, where she continues to bring authenticity and depth to her character’s journey.

Diané, Yashere, and Brooks will be recognized with the Ensemble Award alongside Tig Notaro for their work in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, a series praised for its exploration of queer relationships, including the franchise’s first gay Klingon.

Additional honors include Jane Lynch receiving the Groundbreaker Award, Dan Levy earning the Vanguard Award, and Paula Pell being presented with the Trailblazer Award. Hannah Einbinder will be recognized for her performance in Hacks, while Brandon Scott Jones is set to receive a supporting performance award for Ghosts.

Dearbhla Walsh will be honored for directing, Jacob Tierney for showrunning, and Noah Schnapp will receive the Breakthrough Performance Award for his role in Stranger Things. The Boulet Brothers will also be recognized for their impact on reality television.

With this year’s lineup, the Critics Choice Association continues to spotlight the creatives pushing LGBTQ+ stories forward—both in visibility and in depth.
