Netflix is gearing up to drop a bold new adult animated series — and the cast alone makes it one to watch.
Oscar, Emmy, and Tony Award nominee Brian Tyree Henry will executive produce and star in Bass X Machina, set to premiere October 6, 2026.
The series unfolds in a lawless steampunk West plagued by brutal outlaws, advanced machines, and supernatural terrors. At the center is Bass (voiced by Henry), a father forced into becoming judge, jury, and executioner to protect his family — even as each act of justice threatens to cost him the very people he’s fighting for.
Joining Henry in the voice cast:
- Janelle Monáe as Glory
- Tati Gabrielle as Dana
- Cree Summer as Ahni
- Chaske Spencer as Lighthorse
- Currie Graham as Rivenbark
- Starletta DuPois as Etta
Original music will be provided by Roman GianArthur and Nate Wonder of Wondaland, adding another layer to the show’s gritty, genre-blending world. Animation will be handled by South Korea’s Studio Mir.
Henry is no stranger to animation. He previously voiced Jefferson Davis in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, with plans to return for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
With Bass X Machina, Henry continues carving out a powerful space in animation — blending fatherhood, justice, survival, and spectacle in a world that looks as dangerous as it sounds.
