Lifetime is bringing back romance and drama with Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted 2 Love, the follow-up to the original film Tempted by Love. Garcelle Beauvais, Lela Rochon, and Vaughn W. Hebron return to reprise their roles, while Boris Kodjoe joins the cast as a new love interest. Mara Huf also stars in the sequel, and Beauvais continues her dual role as star and executive producer.
The story follows Ava (Beauvais), a celebrated chef who seems to have moved on from past heartbreak—including her love with Luke (Hebron), who was twenty years her junior. At a prestigious culinary event in scenic Portugal, Ava is accompanied by her new boyfriend, Ellis (Kodjoe), a charming addition to her life. But when Luke unexpectedly arrives with his own partner, Lily (Huf), old emotions begin to resurface. As they navigate kitchens and castles, Ava and Luke must decide whether to follow their hearts or stay on the path they’ve built. Lela Rochon returns as Deena.
The film premieres Saturday, January 31, at 8/7c, as part of Lifetime’s “Love of a Lifetime” romance-focused movie lineup.
The project is executive produced by D’Angela Proctor for Undaunted Content in partnership with Motion Entertainment, a WPP Media Company, with McMillan, Beauvais, and Tamara T. Gregory also executive producing. Kodjoe and Hebron serve as producers, while Roger Bobb directs from a script by Gregory.
This film marks the latest in Beauvais’s ongoing partnership with Lifetime, which has produced acclaimed projects spotlighting Black women’s stories. Previous collaborations, including Black Girl Missing, Abducted at an HBCU: A Black Girl Missing Movie, and Tempted by Love, have earned industry recognition, including Gracie and Astra Awards and nominations from the NAACP Image and Black Reel Awards.
Tempted 2 Love continues Lifetime and Beauvais’s mission to tell heartfelt, relatable stories, with more casting details and updates expected in the coming months.
