Chris Lee Upped to Series Regular on CBS’ ‘Tracker’ Season 3

CBS is locking in a key piece of Tracker’s evolving ensemble. Chris Lee, who has been recurring as Randy, has officially been promoted to series regular in the show’s third season.

Lee first appeared in Season 2 as Randy, the charismatic cousin of Bobby (played by Eric Graise), stepping in as a tech-savvy assist when Bobby needed backup. As the series has continued to shift its core team, Randy has naturally filled a larger role—especially following Bobby’s exit—becoming a consistent presence in supporting Colter Shaw’s cases.

Led by Justin Hartley, Tracker centers on Colter, a survivalist who travels the country using his instincts to locate missing people in exchange for rewards. While Colter operates solo in the field, his work is powered by a small but essential remote team—one that has gone through notable changes since the show’s debut.

Randy’s promotion signals a more permanent place within that team, as the series continues to redefine its supporting lineup. In recent seasons, several original members have stepped away, leaving Colter’s operation to rebuild in real time. Now, with Randy stepping fully into the tech role, the show appears to be settling into its next phase.

Outside of Tracker, Lee is known for his role as Kaleb Hawkins on Legacies and is set to return as Hannibal in Season 7 of The Chi. His stage work also includes originating a role in Hell’s Kitchen and performing in the national tour of Hamilton.

Based on The Never Game, Tracker has remained a strong performer for CBS, consistently ranking among the most-watched broadcast series. The show has already secured a Season 4 renewal, reinforcing its place as one of the network’s top procedural hits.

As Season 3 continues, Randy’s expanded role opens the door for deeper character exploration—something the series has leaned into with members of Colter’s inner circle. With the team still taking shape, his promotion may be just the beginning of a larger storyline ahead.

New episodes of Tracker air Sundays on CBS.
