Former NFL standouts Omar Bolden and Vernon Davis are stepping further into their acting era with City of Visions, a dramatic new feature film directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Joslyn Rose. The newly released trailer offers a first look at the project, which is slated for release on Apple TV+ in 2026.
Set in a historic arts district facing rapid redevelopment, City of Visions centers on a driven real estate developer portrayed by Dushaun Thompson. As his ambitious plans threaten to reshape the neighborhood, long-buried tensions resurface when his estranged brother (Bolden) and a shadowy figure from his past (Davis) re-enter his life. What unfolds is a layered story about ambition, loyalty, and the cost of progress when culture and community are pushed to the margins.
The film also stars Candice Bolden, Simone Leanora, Ryan Nicole Austin, Donald Lacy, and Hedy Wong. Blending grounded, emotionally layered storytelling with moments of heightened theatrical style, City of Visions explores how memory and identity collide amid rapid change and gentrification.
Produced by Vernon Davis through his Reel 85 Productions banner in association with My Own Backyard Films, the project marks a significant creative chapter for the former NFL star.
“This is a story about brotherhood, conflict, and redemption,” Davis said. “City of Visions has been one of the most meaningful creative journeys I’ve taken as both an actor and a producer.”
Director Joslyn Rose added, “City of Visions is about the fight for a place’s soul and how that struggle reflects the battles within ourselves. It’s a deeply human story set against change, loss, and hope.”
Founded by Davis, Reel 85 Productions focuses on character-driven film and television projects that emphasize authenticity, innovation, and culturally resonant storytelling.
