Roy Wood Jr. will be back behind the desk for more political satire as CNN has officially renewed Have I Got News For You for a fourth season. The new season is set to premiere January 24, with Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black returning as team captains.
The U.S. adaptation of the long-running BBC panel series has become a standout for CNN’s weekend programming. Since launching in September 2024, the show has steadily built momentum, with Season 2 airing in February 2025 and Season 3 following in September. According to Nielsen, the series now averages roughly 2 million viewers per week, making it one of CNN’s most-watched shows since its debut.
Produced by Hat Trick Productions—the same company behind the original UK version—the series is executive produced by Jim Biederman, Jimmy Mulville, and Richard Wilson. Each episode offers a comedic spin on the political news of the week, blending sharp satire with panel-show chaos.
Seasoned journalists, politicians, and comedians have rotated through the guest chairs, including Jasmine Crockett, Adam Kinzinger, Joy Reid, Kara Swisher, Bomani Jones, Lewis Black, Paula Poundstone, Mae Martin, and more.
The renewal further solidifies CNN’s Saturday night strategy, where Have I Got News For You airs alongside a repeat of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher. For CNN, the show continues to prove that political commentary can still draw viewers—especially when it comes with jokes sharp enough to cut through the noise.
