Universal Pictures has released the official trailer for Reminders of Him, the upcoming adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. The drama, led by Maika Monroe and Tyriq Withers, will hit theaters on Friday, March 13, 2026.
The film marks the third Hoover novel to receive a big-screen adaptation, following the real-life drama-filled It Ends With Us (2024) and Regretting You, which debuts this Friday.
In Reminders of Him, Monroe stars as Kenna, a young woman who, after a tragic mistake that costs her the love of her life and sends her to prison, returns home to Wyoming in search of redemption. Upon release, she hopes to reconnect with her daughter Diem, whom she has never met. However, Diem’s grandparents, played by Lauren Graham and Bradley Whitford, are unwilling to forgive Kenna’s past and deny her contact.
Amid her struggle, Kenna meets former NFL player and local bar owner Ledger (Withers), who offers her compassion and understanding. Their growing connection brings both healing and new challenges—especially once Ledger learns that Kenna is tied to the tragedy that claimed his best friend’s life.
The trailer, set to Lord Huron’s haunting “The Night We Met,” teases the emotional highs and devastating lows of Kenna’s journey toward forgiveness and self-acceptance.
The film also stars Rudy Pankow (Outer Banks), Lainey Wilson (Yellowstone), Jennifer Robertson (Schitt’s Creek), Zoe Kosovic (The Smashing Machine), Hilary Jardine (Holidazed), Nicholas Duvernay (The White Lotus), and Monika Myers in her screen debut.
Reminders of Him is directed by Vanessa Caswill (Love at First Sight, Little Women miniseries) from a screenplay by Colleen Hoover and Lauren Levine. Hoover also produces alongside Levine and Gina Matthews (Isn’t It Romantic, 13 Going on 30), with Robin Mulcahy Fisichella serving as executive producer.
Published in 2022, Hoover’s Reminders of Him has sold over six million copies in the U.S. and has been translated into 45 languages. The author, one of today’s most prolific romance novelists, also has Verity currently in development as a feature film.
Reminders of Him opens exclusively in theaters on March 13, 2026.
