Colman Domingo Set to Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ for the First Time with Anitta as Musical Guest

Two-time Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Colman Domingo is headed to Studio 8H. The actor will make his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live on April 11, with global music star Anitta joining as the night’s musical guest in her first appearance on the show.

The booking marks another major moment in what has been a steady and intentional rise for Domingo, who continues to move seamlessly between film, television, and streaming. He will next be seen in The Four Seasons on Netflix and is set to return to Euphoria on HBO. On the film side, Domingo is stepping into the role of Joe Jackson in Michael, the upcoming biopic directed by Antoine Fuqua, and will also star alongside Kerry Washington in An Innocent Girl.

For Anitta, the SNL stage marks a milestone moment. The Grammy-nominated artist recently released her single “Pinterest,” the first offering from her upcoming album Equilibrium. Her debut performance on the long-running sketch series signals another step in her continued global crossover.

Created and executive produced by Lorne Michaels, Saturday Night Live remains one of television’s most influential platforms for both comedy and music, often serving as a cultural checkpoint for talent across industries.

The April 11 episode follows a previously announced lineup that will see Jack Black return to host on April 4 for his fifth time, alongside musical guest Jack White. Black is currently promoting The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which arrives in theaters April 1.

With Domingo making his SNL debut and Anitta stepping onto the stage for the first time, the April 11 episode is shaping up to be a notable moment for both artists—each arriving at a peak in their respective runs.
