Daveed Diggs to Star in Hulu and A24 Drama Series ‘The Spot’

Daveed Diggs is set to star in Hulu and A24’s upcoming drama series ‘The Spot,’ joining previously announced leads Claire Danes and Ewan McGregor.

Character details are being kept under wraps, but the series centers on a successful surgeon (Danes) who, alongside her schoolteacher husband (McGregor), begins to suspect she may be responsible for a child’s hit-and-run death. What starts as a search for the truth quickly unravels into a tense spiral of suspicion and buried secrets, putting their marriage and moral boundaries to the test.

‘The Spot’ comes from writer, showrunner, and executive producer Ed Solomon, marking his latest television project following HBO Max’s ‘Full Circle.’ A24 serves as the lead studio on the series in partnership with 20th Television for Hulu. Robin Sweet and Ariel Kleiman also executive produce, with Kleiman set to direct.

Diggs, a Tony and Grammy Award winner, is widely known for his work across film, television, and theater, including ‘Hamilton,’ ‘Blindspotting,’ and ‘Snowpiercer.’ His recent and upcoming projects include the Oscar-nominated ‘Nickel Boys,’ Gregg Araki’s ‘I Want Your Sex,’ and Searchlight/Hulu’s ‘In the Blink of an Eye.’

Danes stepped into the lead role after Kate Winslet exited the project earlier this year due to creative differences. Winslet had originally been attached to star and executive produce when the series received a straight-to-series order in August 2024.

‘The Spot’ is currently in development with a release date yet to be announced.
