Deborah Cox Is Headed to Broadway as ‘Titanique’ Sets Sail for a Limited Run

Deborah Cox is officially joining the Broadway revival of the musical comedy Titanique, stepping into the role of the larger-than-life Unsinkable Molly Brown as the fan-favorite Off-Broadway hit makes its long-awaited transfer uptown.

The Olivier Award–winning show, which hilariously reimagines Titanic through the music of Céline Dion, will begin Broadway previews on March 26 at the St. James Theatre. The production officially opens April 12 for a 16-week limited engagement, running through July 12.

Cox’s casting adds even more star power to a company that blends Broadway veterans, pop culture favorites, and original cast members. The Grammy-nominated singer and actress, whose stage credits include The Wiz and The Bodyguard musical, will bring her powerhouse vocals and commanding presence to the role of Molly Brown—one of the most scene-stealing characters in the show’s outrageous retelling.

She joins Jim Parsons, who returns to Broadway in a gender-bending turn as Ruth DeWitt Bukater, Rose’s formidable mother. Parsons was last seen on stage in Our Town and Mother Play, and his casting continues Titanique’s tradition of gleefully subverting expectations.

Also returning from the original Off-Broadway run is Frankie Grande, reprising his role as Victor Garber, while Constantine Rousouli—one of the show’s co-creators—steps back into the role of Jack Dawson, which he originated. The Broadway cast is rounded out by previously announced Marla Mindelle, who once again leads the production as Céline Dion herself.

Originally developed Off Broadway, Titanique completed a record-breaking three-year run before closing in June 2025. The Broadway revival brings back the same irreverent spirit that turned the show into a cult hit, blending camp, pop divas, and disaster-movie melodrama into a fast-paced musical comedy.

Directed by co-creator Tye Blue, with choreography by Ellenore Scott, the show invites audiences to “discover what really happened” to Jack and Rose—this time through Céline Dion’s iconic song catalog. Numbers include crowd-pleasers like “My Heart Will Go On,” “All By Myself,” and “To Love You More,” woven into a story that gleefully veers off course from the original film.

Produced on Broadway by Tony Award winner Eva Price, Titanique continues to prove that there’s still room on Broadway for bold, ridiculous, and unapologetically fun musicals—especially when powered by divas, drama, and a wink to pop culture history.

Additional casting is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. A Broadway pre-sale begins Thursday, January 8, with tickets available to the general public starting Monday, January 12.
