Shiloh Coke, Munya Chawawa, Judi Love, Michelle de Swarte, and Charithra Chandran have been cast in Schooled, Channel 4’s new six-part comedy series from creator and writer Delia-René Donaldson.
Inspired by Donaldson’s real-life experiences working in pastoral care at a London academy, Schooled is described as a comedic love letter to teachers and support staff across the UK. The series centers on Kayleigh Clarke, a newly appointed pastoral Head of Year 10 with no formal teaching experience and very little patience for teenagers. Between Ofsted inspections, AI-driven scandals, and chaotic Parent’s Evenings, Clarke is determined to make it work—discovering that empathy (and sometimes a little bribery) can be the ultimate survival tool.
Coke (Cheaters) takes on the lead role of Kayleigh Clarke, while Chawawa plays “T.” They are joined by Judi Love (Taskmaster) as Anita, Michelle de Swarte (Spent) as Naomi, and Chandran (Bridgerton) as Lara. Additional cast members include Elliot Barnes-Worrell (Black Mirror), Rebecca Humphries (The Crown), and Alex Bhat (Gentleman Jack).
Behind the scenes, BAFTA-winning producer Afolabi Kuti executive produces through Broedmachine alongside GroupM Motion Entertainment. The writing team includes Yemi Oyefuwa (Smothered, Dreaming Whilst Black) and Tyrell Williams (Time Bandits, Hoodocumentary), with Jeremy Dyson (We Are Lady Parts, The Curse, Bad Education) serving as script editor.
Filming is now underway. Schooled was commissioned as part of Channel 4 and GroupM Motion Entertainment’s Diverse Indies Fund, an initiative designed to support ethnically diverse-led production companies in developing new projects.
