Deon Taylor is set to direct Tink, the debut feature from newly launched production company Limitless Films, founded by veteran producer Arthur Sarkissian and entrepreneur Jas Mathur.
Based on the true story of Gerald Tinker, Tink chronicles the extraordinary rise and fall of an American Olympian and NFL player who became entangled in Miami’s drug trafficking underworld during the 1970s and ’80s. After winning Olympic gold at the infamous 1972 Munich Games, Tinker, a Black sprinter, found himself shut out of professional sports, only to be pulled into a covert cocaine pipeline operating through Miami International Airport. The film follows his desperate fight to outrun law enforcement, organized crime, and his own past while trying to protect the only family he has left.
The project will be produced by Sarkissian and Mathur alongside Hidden Empire Film Group, led by Deon Taylor and Roxanne Avent Taylor. Adriana Sheri serves as executive producer, with the script penned by Jarrett Bryant (Maxie). Production is expected to take place in Miami toward the end of 2026.
“Tink is an intense, character-driven American crime epic, rooted in history,” said Taylor. “I fell in love with the script instantly. It’s rare, emotional, and cinematic, with true awards potential. Few stories of this caliber and era remain untold today, so we’re blessed to be able to bring it to life in a fashion befitting of it, alongside amazing partners in Arthur and Jas.”
Mathur emphasized the personal responsibility behind the project, stating that Tink is not inspired by a true story — it is one. “Gerald Tinker lived this pain, this fight, and this survival,” Mathur said. “He is a former Olympic gold medalist and NFL wide receiver, and his journey beyond the spotlight is as powerful as anything he achieved on the world stage. Bringing his life to the screen is the foundation of why Limitless Films exists.”
Limitless Films operates as a subsidiary of Limitless X Holdings Inc. and will develop, package, and produce a slate of projects across action, drama, horror, and thriller genres.
Taylor’s previous credits include The Intruder, the psychological thriller starring Dennis Quaid, Michael Ealy, and Meagan Good that grossed over $30 million worldwide, as well as Black and Blue, starring Naomie Harris, and Fatale, led by two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank.
Mathur, Chairman and CEO of Limitless X Holdings, brings a background spanning technology, wellness, nutrition, and performance industries. Deon Taylor, Roxanne Avent Taylor, and Hidden Empire Film Group are represented by CAA, while Bryant is represented by Ensemble Entertainment.
With Tink, Limitless Films makes a statement from the outset, launching with a historically grounded, culturally resonant story that aims to reclaim a legacy long overlooked.
