‘Doc’ Season 2 Set for September Premiere as Fox Reveals Simpler Fall Lineup

Fox is keeping things simple this fall — and that includes the return of its hit medical drama Doc, which is set to premiere its 22-episode second season on Tuesday, September 23 at 9/8c.

Adapted from the Italian series Doc – Nelle tue mani, the show stars Molly Parker as Dr. Amy Larsen, a once-brilliant physician who must start her career over after a traumatic brain injury erases the last eight years of her memory. Season 2 will pick up where the first left off — with Amy navigating her personal and professional reset, and new power dynamics at Westside Hospital.

Patrick Walker (Dr. TJ Coleman) and Charlotte Fountain-Jardim (Katie Hamda) have been upped to series regulars this season, joining returning cast members Amirah VannOmar Metwally, Jon Ecker, and Anya Banerjee. As previously announced, Felicity Huffman joins the cast in Season 2 as Dr. Joan Ridley, Amy’s former mentor and the hospital’s new Chief of Internal Medicine.

The show was renewed earlier this year following strong viewership. It not only became Fox’s most-watched multiplatform debut in over five years with 16 million views across platforms, but also saw a 56% jump in the 18-49 demo from premiere to finale.

Fox’s Full Fall 2025 Premiere Lineup

Fox’s fall strategy is clean and classic: everything premieres in its regular time slot, with no post-NFL stunts or two-hour specials (aside from its usual Sunday comedy block). Scripted programming remains limited — just 4 out of 15 primetime hours — while unscripted competition and game shows dominate.
