After years of delays and nonstop speculation, Euphoria is finally heading back to HBO. The critically acclaimed series will return in April 2026, marking its first season in more than four years since Season 2 wrapped in February 2022. Production on the eight-episode season wrapped last month.
Creator Sam Levinson returns as writer, director, and executive producer. This season includes a five-year time jump, moving the characters into adulthood. Here’s a look at where the main characters are:
- Rue (Zendaya) — living in Mexico, in debt to Laurie, finding creative ways to pay it off.
- Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) & Nate (Jacob Elordi) — engaged, living in the suburbs; Levinson promises their wedding will be “unforgettable.”
- Jules (Hunter Schafer) — in art school, worried about her future.
- Maddy (Alexa Demie) — working at a Hollywood talent agency with multiple side hustles.
- Lexi (Maude Apatow) — assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone.

The Bigger Picture
Euphoria has become one of HBO’s biggest cultural phenomena and the most-watched series outside of its fantasy titles. Over its first two seasons, it earned 25 Emmy nominations and nine wins, including two for Zendaya and one for Colman Domingo.
While HBO’s Francesca Orsi hinted that this could be the final chapter, she promised Season 3 will bring every character’s story “to a satisfying close.”
