First Look: Netflix Undercover Crime Thriller ‘Legends; Unveils Trailer Starring Aml Ameen

Netflix has dropped a gripping first look at its upcoming undercover crime thriller Legends, giving audiences a tense preview of the high-stakes series starringAml Ameen, Tom Burke, and Steve Coogan.

Inspired by a remarkable true story, Legends takes viewers back to 1990s Britain, where authorities were losing control of the drug trade. In a bold and unconventional move, a group of ordinary customs workers—completely untrained in espionage—are recruited and sent undercover to infiltrate some of the country’s most dangerous drug gangs.

To survive, they must fully embody new criminal identities known as “legends,” blurring the line between who they are and who they’re pretending to be.

Created by Neil Forsyth (The Gold, Guilt), the six-part series leans into both the danger and psychology of undercover work. Rather than focusing on polished, elite spies, Legends centers on working-class individuals who see the mission as a rare opportunity to change the trajectory of their lives—despite the life-threatening risks.

The ensemble cast includes Aml Ameen as Bailey, alongside Tom Burke as Guy, Steve Coogan as operations lead Don, plus Hayley Squires, Tom Hughes, Jasmine Blackborow, Charlotte Ritchie, Douglas Hodge, and Johnny Harris.

Directed by Brady Hood (Top Boy) and Julian Holmes (Reacher), the series blends gritty crime storytelling with character-driven tension, drawing comparisons to The Gentlemen while carving out its own lane with a grounded, true-story edge.

Legends premieres May 7, 2026, on Netflix.
