ALLBLK just released the trailer for its bold new original series G.R.I.T.S., and it’s already giving heart, hustle, and hella Southern charm.
Created by Deji LaRay and led by Jasmine Sargent, Ashanti Harris, and Aja “Slimeroni” Canyon, the eight-episode drama premieres Thursday, October 30, exclusively on ALLBLK.
Standing for Girls Raised in the South, G.R.I.T.S. follows three Memphis women — Keisha (Sargent), Ty (Harris), and Francis (Canyon) — as they skate, strive, and survive their way through life in the 901.
Their favorite escape? The roller rink. It’s where they find freedom, sisterhood, and the strength to outrun the challenges life throws their way. Between chasing dreams, wrestling with grief, and facing the city’s rough edges, these women learn that resilience is its own rhythm — and when all else fails, you skate until you can’t skate anymore.
The series also stars Thomas Q. Jones, Tiffany Black, Elise Neal, Nia Maranda, Timon Kyle Durrett, Jerrel O’Neal, Kamille Gilmore, Tamara Stackhouse, and much more — with appearances from Southern hip-hop legends 8Ball & MJG, bringing authentic Memphis flavor to the mix.
