Georgina Campbell Hunts a Satanic Slasher in ‘Psycho Killer,’ Set for 2026 Release

Disney has officially added Psycho Killer to its upcoming theatrical slate.

The 20th Century Studios horror-thriller, starring Barbarian breakout Georgina Campbell, is set to hit theaters on February 20, 2026.

Written by Se7en scribe Andrew Kevin Walker and directed by Emmy-nominated producer Gavin Polone (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Gilmore Girls), the film also stars Logan Miller and James Preston Rogers.

Psycho Killer follows police officer Jane Thorne (Campbell), who becomes obsessed with tracking down a brutal serial murderer known in the media as the “Satanic Slasher” after the vicious killing of her husband Marvin—a state trooper played by Miller.

Miller’s Marvin is described as a goth eccentric who works for a mysterious figure named Pendleton inside a sprawling, isolated mansion. The film wrapped production in 2023 and is produced by New Regency alongside Roy Lee, Walker, Miri Yoon, and Matt Berenson, with co-financing from Constantin Film.

But ahead of its 2026 release, Disney is first bringing something much more tender to theaters this fall.

Rental Family, from Searchlight Pictures, will premiere November 21, 2025. The film stars Oscar winner Brendan Fraser in his first lead role since The Whale, playing a washed-up American actor living in Tokyo. Searching for purpose, he begins working for a Japanese “rental family” company—where people are paid to step into roles in others’ lives, from fake boyfriend to surrogate son. Through the gig, he finds unexpected connection, meaning, and even joy.

Directed by Hikari (Tokyo Vice) and co-written with Stephen Blahut, Rental Family was filmed in Japan and also stars Mari Yamamoto, Takehiro Hira, and Akira Emoto. Speaking at Deadline’s Red Sea Studio, Fraser described the experience as “trailblazing,” saying, “More and more productions are likely going to start working their way towards shooting in Japan.”

From a blood-soaked psychological hunt to a heartwarming cultural exploration, Disney’s upcoming slate shows just how far it’s willing to go—geographically and emotionally—to bring a range of stories to the big screen.
