Peacock has unveiled the first look at The Five-Star Weekend, its upcoming limited series led by and executive produced by Jennifer Garner, with Regina Hall among the project’s standout ensemble. The eight-episode drama will premiere Thursday, July 16, with all episodes dropping at once on Peacock.

Based on Elin Hilderbrand’s 2023 novel, The Five-Star Weekend centers on Hollis Shaw (Jennifer Garner), a famed cook, bestselling author, and lifestyle tastemaker whose carefully curated life begins to unravel after a devastating loss. As grief forces her to confront the cracks in her picture-perfect world, including a strained marriage, a complicated relationship with her daughter, and her growing need for outside validation, Hollis comes up with an idea she hopes will help her start again.

She invites women from different chapters of her life to her Nantucket home for a “five-star weekend” — friends from childhood, her twenties, her thirties, and one unexpected fifth guest. Set against a luxurious coastal backdrop, the gathering becomes a space where old wounds, buried truths, and personal reinvention all collide.

Chloë Sevigny plays Tatum McKenzie, Hollis’ childhood friend who represents her earliest chapter. Regina Hall takes on the role of Dru-Ann Jones, her bold and unfiltered college friend who isn’t afraid to disrupt the group’s dynamic. Gemma Chan stars as Gigi Ling, a mysterious outsider and devoted follower of Hollis’ blog who arrives as the unexpected “fifth star.” And D’Arcy Carden plays Brooke Kirtley, a friend from Hollis’ adult life who adds another layer to the group’s evolving relationships.

The series also stars Timothy Olyphant, Harlow Jane, and a supporting cast that includes Rob Huebel, David Denman, Josh Hamilton, West Duchovny, Judy Greer, Tory Devon Smith, Morrison Keddie, and Roberta Colindrez.

Behind the scenes, the series comes from creator, writer, and executive producer Bekah Brunstetter, with Beth Schacter also serving as writer and executive producer. Minkie Spiro directs and executive produces, while Sue Naegle and Ali Krug executive produce for Dinner Party Productions alongside Elin Hilderbrand and Merri Howard. Garner also executive produces. The Five-Star Weekend is produced by Universal Content Productions, a division of Universal Studio Group.

With its mix of grief, friendship, secrets, and self-discovery, The Five-Star Weekend is shaping up to be an emotionally layered ensemble drama. And with Regina Hall in the mix, it adds even more depth to a story rooted in connection, truth, and starting over.
