Ghetts Will Not Appear in Supacell Season 2 Following Guilty Plea in Fatal Hit-and-Run Case

Ghetts, the British rapper and actor, will not return for the second season of Netflix’s breakout hit Supacell after admitting to causing the death of a man in a hit-and-run car crash.

While his casting for Season 2 had not yet been confirmed, Deadline reports that Ghetts will no longer be involved with the series. Production on the new season is currently underway in the UK.

The rapper—real name Justin Clarke—pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving during a hearing at the Old Bailey on monday. Appearing via video link from Pentonville prison, he admitted to fatally striking 20-year-old Yubin Tamang on October 18.

According to the Metropolitan Police, Ghetts was driving more than twice the 30mph speed limit when he collided with Tamang as he crossed the road. He failed to stop and fled the scene, but was arrested four hours later. Tamang died in the hospital two days after the crash. Sentencing is scheduled for FEBRUARY 12.

On Supacell, Ghetts played Krazy, an antagonist whose storyline ended on an ambiguous note in Season 1. Though the character was seemingly shot, the series never explicitly confirmed his fate.

The show—created by Andrew Onwubolu, known professionally as Rapman—follows a group of South Londoners who suddenly develop superpowers. Since its debut last year, Supacell has amassed more than 450M views on Netflix. Rapman confirmed that filming on Season 2 was already underway in an October 6 Instagram post, just days before the incident involving Ghetts.
