Harry Lennix Guest Stars on CBS’ ‘Boston Blue,’ Reuniting On-Screen with Former ‘ER’ Co-Star Gloria Reuben

Veteran actor Harry Lennix is making a guest appearance on Boston Blue, marking a notable on-screen reunion with his former ER co-star Gloria Reuben nearly three decades after the pair first shared scenes together.

Lennix appears in the March 6 episode of the CBS crime drama, titled “Family Secrets,” where he plays Judge Elijah Robinson. The character shares a complicated past with Reuben’s District Attorney Mae Silver, creating a storyline that echoes the actors’ earlier collaboration when they portrayed romantic partners on the long-running medical drama ER in the late 1990s.

The reunion is a full-circle moment for the two performers, whose characters were once romantically linked during Lennix’s six-episode run on ER. In that series, Lennix played Dr. Greg Fischer, a doctor who became a love interest for Reuben’s Jeanie Boulet — one of the show’s most memorable characters during its early seasons.

On Boston Blue, the dynamic shifts from the hospital corridors of Chicago to the legal world of Boston. Lennix’s Judge Robinson becomes entangled in a storyline involving Reuben’s character, who serves as the matriarch of the Silver family and a central figure in the series’ law-enforcement narrative.

The casting also reconnects Lennix with Boston Blue showrunners Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis, whom he previously worked with during his long-running role as Harold Cooper on The Blacklist. Lennix led the task force on the NBC crime drama for a decade, helping anchor the series across multiple seasons.

New episodes of Boston Blue air Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS and stream the following day on Paramount+.
