Idris Elba Returns Alongside Chris Hemsworth and Golshifteh Farahani for Extraction 3

The Extraction franchise is gearing up for its next high-octane chapter. Netflix has officially greenlit Extraction 3, reuniting Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, and Golshifteh Farahani, with Sam Hargrave returning as director. Production is scheduled to begin this summer, with David Weil writing the screenplay.

The series, produced by AGBO—the company led by Anthony and Joe Russo—first launched in 2020 with Extraction, based on Ande Parks’ graphic novel Ciudad. The first film became an instant streaming sensation, topping Netflix’s Most Popular English Films list and earning two Critics Choice nominations. Its 2023 sequel, Extraction 2, continued the momentum, cementing Tyler Rake as a fan-favorite action hero.

While plot details for the third installment are being kept under wraps, fans can expect Tyler Rake to face another life-threatening mission across international locations. The return of Hemsworth, Elba, and Farahani signals that the franchise will continue its signature blend of relentless action and intricate rescue operations.

AGBO is expanding the Extraction universe beyond the main films. Upcoming projects include a series starring Omar Sy and a South Korean feature led by Don Lee, Lee Jin-uk, and Lalisa Manobal. The partnership between AGBO and Netflix has already produced hits like The Gray Man and The Electric State, highlighting the studio’s growing influence in global action storytelling.

With a proven track record, the Extraction franchise shows no signs of slowing down. Fans can anticipate another adrenaline-fueled ride when Tyler Rake straps on his Kevlar once more.
