NBC Orders New Comedy Series ‘Stumble’ Starring Jarrett Austin Brown and Arianna Davis

NBC is expanding its comedy slate for the 2025–2026 season with Stumble, a new half-hour series set in the high-energy world of junior college cheerleading.

The network has given a series order to the show, which stars Claws alum Jenn Lyon as Courteney Potter, a no-nonsense coach aiming to lead her newly recruited cheer squad to their 15th national title—while changing lives along the way. Stumble also stars rising talents Jarrett Austin Brown and Arianna Davis, with Taran Killam, Ryan Pinkston, Anissa Borrego, Taylor Dunbar, and Georgie Murphy rounding out the ensemble. Kristin Chenoweth will recur in the series.

Created by sibling duo Jeff and Liz Astrof, the show comes from Universal Television and features a powerhouse team behind the scenes. Jeff Astrof (Shining Vale, Trial & Error) and Liz Astrof (2 Broke Girls, Pivoting) serve as writers and executive producers. Dana Honor (via Defining Eve Productions) and Cheer’s Monica Aldama also executive produce, with Jeff Blitz directing and executive producing the pilot.

Stumble joins NBC’s comedy lineup alongside The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, starring Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe. While NBC hasn’t confirmed its full fall schedule, the network has two open half-hour slots on Mondays and Fridays—likely reserved for these two newcomers. Returning shows St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place are expected to anchor the other half of those comedy blocks.

NBC is also considering a comedy pilot from Rutherford Falls creator Sierra Teller Ornelas, Jackie Keliiaa, and Bobby Wilson, centered on staff at a Native community center in Oakland. A decision on its pickup is still pending.

With its mix of heart, humor, and high-stakes flips, Stumble is poised to bring a fresh dose of spirit to NBC’s comedy lineup.
