Jason Veasey and Cindy De La Cruz have joined the cast of Fox’s Best Medicine, a one-hour medical comedy series based on the hit British show Doc Martin.
They will appear in recurring roles alongside Didi Conn (Grease), Clea Lewis (American Rust), Stephen Spinella (Royal Pains), John DiMaggio (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts), Carter Shimp (The Holdovers), and the show’s scene-stealing dog, Wattson.
Previously announced cast includes Josh Charles, Abigail Spencer, Annie Potts, Josh Segarra, and Cree.
The Story
Best Medicine follows Martin Best (Josh Charles), a top Boston surgeon who abruptly abandons his prestigious career to become a small-town doctor in a quirky East Coast fishing village where he spent childhood summers.
While Martin can handle any medical emergency, his blunt, emotionally distant personality clashes with the eccentric townspeople—who are both charmed and frustrated by their only available doctor. Beneath his gruff exterior lies a new phobia and deep-rooted emotional trauma that’s keeping him from true connection.
But in a town where everyone is in everyone’s business, Martin won’t stay on the sidelines for long.
