Joe Morton Joins Mike Colter in CBS’ Upcoming Legal Drama ‘Cupertino’

Joe Morton Joins Cast of FOX Comedy 'Going Dutch' in Recurring Role

Veteran actor Joe Morton has joined the cast of Cupertino, CBS’s upcoming legal drama from The Good Wife and The Good Fight creators Robert and Michelle King, alongside previously announced lead Mike Colter.

Created and executive produced by the Kings, Cupertino is described as a David-vs.-Goliath legal drama set in Silicon Valley, centering on a lawyer fighting back after being cheated out of his stock options by his former tech start-up employer.

Colter stars as Michael, an attorney determined to challenge the power structures of the tech world after his professional fallout. Refusing to back down, Michael teams up with Olivia (Rachel Keller), a Midwestern law school graduate who is also fired from a Silicon Valley start-up. Together, the two launch an underdog law firm dedicated to representing people exploited by the tech elite.

Morton will recur as Bayard, Michael’s celebrity lawyer father — a towering figure whose reputation and relentless pursuit of success casts a long shadow over his son.

The ensemble cast also includes Renée Elise Goldsberry, Ella Stiller, Nik Dodani, and Busy Philipps.

Goldsberry plays Renee, a formidable opposing attorney who shares both professional history and romantic tension with Michael.
Dodani portrays Vik, a coder with a sharp comedic edge who turns to Michael and Olivia for help when his own tech company turns against him.
Stiller stars as Christy, a young assistant working at the scrappy new law firm at the center of the series.

Additional guest stars include Rob McClure (Mrs. Doubtfire on Broadway), who plays Bo, a potential client seeking representation from Michael and Olivia’s firm, and Steven Pasquale, who appears as Ry, a powerful Silicon Valley attorney known for commanding any room he enters.

CBS Studios produces the series, with Robert and Michelle King serving as co-showrunners and executive producers under their King Size Productions banner. Robert King will direct the premiere episode, with Liz Glotzer and Sam Hoffman also executive producing.

Cupertino continues the Kings’ exploration of complex legal systems — this time shifting the battleground from courtrooms shaped by politics to the high-stakes world of Big Tech.
