Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is back—and it looks as brutal as ever—in the first trailer for Marvel’s TV special Punisher: One Last Kill.
Set to debut on Disney+ on May 12, just one week after the Season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again, the special finds Frank Castle spiraling deeper into chaos. The trailer teases a relentless, high-stakes mission, with Castle enduring extreme violence—including being set on fire—while grappling with haunting hallucinations.
Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who also co-wrote the project alongside Bernthal, One Last Kill appears to center on yet another blood-soaked revenge arc for the iconic antihero.
Bernthal first stepped into the role of Frank Castle in Season 2 of Daredevil, quickly becoming a standout as the ruthless vigilante straddling the line between ally and adversary to Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. The character later led his own two-season run with The Punisher before Marvel’s street-level heroes—including Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders—transitioned to Disney+.
Bernthal recently reprised the role in Born Again, where Punisher joined forces with Daredevil against Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. After escaping imprisonment in the Season 1 finale’s post-credits scene, Castle’s story now continues in One Last Kill, with another appearance already lined up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
If the trailer is any indication, this next chapter isn’t pulling any punches.
