Karen Pittman on The Morning Show Season 4: “Mia Is More Ruthless Than She Thought” [INTERVIEW]

Apple TV+’s The Morning Show has never shied away from messy power plays, and Season 4 is no exception. Returning September 17, the Emmy-winning drama picks up nearly two years after the UBA-NBN merger, with Alex (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley (Reese Witherspoon) navigating new scandals, betrayals, and even deeper questions about truth in the media.

Alongside them is one of my favorite arcs on the show: Mia Jordan, played by Karen Pittman. From Season 1 to now, we’ve watched Mia climb the ranks, often carrying the unspoken weight of being a Black woman in spaces not designed for her. In Season 4, that journey takes a turn—Mia is sharper, bolder, and, as Karen tells me, “more ruthless than she thought.”

I sat down with Karen to talk about Mia’s evolution, the lessons she hopes women take away from her story, and what it means to stand tall—even when the system is built to keep you out.
