Kerry Washington and Elisabeth Moss Confront Secrets and Betrayal in Apple TV+ Thriller ‘Imperfect Women’ [TRAILER]

The trailer for Apple TV+’s upcoming limited series Imperfect Women has officially arrived — and it’s clear this psychological thriller is about to unravel the illusion of perfect friendships.

Starring and executive produced by Emmy Award winners Kerry Washington and Elisabeth Moss, the eight-episode series premieres globally Wednesday, March 18, 2026, with its first two episodes, followed by new installments every Wednesday through April 29.

Based on the novel by Araminta Hall and created for television by Annie Weisman, Imperfect Women centers on a decades-long friendship between three women that is shattered by a shocking crime. When one of them dies, the investigation exposes buried secrets, hidden betrayals, and the complicated truth about who these women really are — to each other and to themselves.

The trailer opens with what appears to be an intimate, long-standing bond between three friends. But it doesn’t take long before suspicion creeps in. As detectives begin pulling at threads, the polished surface of their lives starts to crack. Affairs are hinted at. Double lives are suggested. Trust begins to feel like a fragile illusion.

The series promises an unconventional take on the crime genre, examining guilt, retribution, love, betrayal, and the life-altering compromises people make behind closed doors. As the mystery unfolds, so does the unsettling realization that even the closest friendships may not be what they seem.

Joining Washington and Moss is an ensemble cast that includes Kate Mara, Joel Kinnaman, Corey Stoll, Leslie Odom Jr., Rome Flynn, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Ana Ortiz, Sherri Saum and more.

Behind the scenes, Weisman serves as creator, showrunner, and executive producer, marking another collaboration with Apple TV+ following her work on Physical. Moss executive produces alongside Lindsey McManus through Love & Squalor Pictures, while Washington executive produces under her Simpson Street banner with Pilar Savone. Author Hall and writer Kay Oyegun also serve as executive producers. Episodes one, four, and five are directed by Lesli Linka Glatter.

Produced by 20th Television and Apple Studios, Imperfect Women looks poised to join the growing slate of high-stakes thrillers exploring the darker undercurrents of female friendship.

If the trailer is any indication, this won’t just be about solving a crime — it will be about confronting the uncomfortable truth that sometimes the people closest to us are hiding the most.

Imperfect Women premieres March 18, 2026 on Apple TV+.
