Apple TV+ and A24’s upcoming high-concept drama The Husbands has rounded out its ensemble, adding a stacked lineup of talent to opposite lead star Juno Temple.
The series, adapted from Holly Gramazio’s bestselling novel, follows Lauren (Temple), who returns home to her London flat and is greeted by a husband she has never met before. When he goes into the attic to change a lightbulb—and suddenly disappears—an entirely new husband appears in his place, setting off a surreal mystery where Lauren must navigate an ever-changing reality of marital lives.
Among the newly announced cast, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Fehinti Balogun, and Rebekah Murrell join the growing roster of “husbands,” alongside previously revealed names including Joe Alwyn, Richard Gadd, Joel Kinnaman, Daniel Ings, and Bob Morley.
The project comes from A24’s UK division and blends comedy and drama as it explores identity, choice, and the idea of parallel lives—posing the question of what happens when love and life can literally be swapped out in an instant.
Additional cast includes Tom Basden, Joe Wilkinson, Gemma Whelan, Shazad Latif, and others, expanding the series’ ensemble across its eight-episode run.
Behind the scenes, the series is led by writer Miriam Battye (Succession) with direction from Adam Randall (Slow Horses), Josephine Bornebusch (Bad Sisters), and Kate Hewitt (One Day). Craig Gillespie, Holly Gramazio, and Juno Temple also serve as executive producers.
With its surreal premise and an eclectic cast of acclaimed British and international talent, The Husbands is shaping up to be one of Apple TV+’s most intriguing upcoming releases.
