Netflix has dropped the official trailer for season two of Nobody Wants This, premiering October 23 with all ten episodes.
Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are back as agnostic podcaster Joanne and unconventional rabbi Noah, whose unlikely romance captivated viewers last season. Now, fully committed to their relationship, the couple faces a new challenge: staying together despite their very different beliefs.
Season two picks up with Joanne and Noah attempting to merge their lives and families, but the trailer teases that tension around faith still lingers. Joanne jokes, “We’re going to do the interfaith thing,” only to be met with awkward silence. Later, Noah bluntly asks, “Are we doomed?” — hinting at the stakes of what’s ahead.
The new season also introduces some familiar faces in guest-starring roles. Leighton Meester joins as Joanne’s former middle school nemesis — a meta twist given that she’s married to Brody in real life. Seth Rogen makes a brief but memorable trailer appearance, while Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky, Arian Moayed, and Kate Berlant also guest star.
They join a stacked ensemble cast that includes Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn, Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Sherry Cola, and Shiloh Berman.
Created by Erin Foster, Nobody Wants This is executive produced by Foster, Steven Levitan, Kristen Bell, Sara Foster, Danielle Stokdyk, Jeff Morton, Bruce Eric Kaplan, Jenni Konner, Nora Silver, and Oly Obst for 3Arts. Kaplan and Konner return as showrunners, with the series produced by 20th Television.
Season one ended on a cliffhanger — Joanne refusing to commit to conversion and Noah stepping into his role as head rabbi. Season two asks the bigger question: can love not only defy the odds but survive them?
