LaKeith Stanfield and Trevante Rhodes Join Taylor Sheridan’s Action Thriller ‘F.A.S.T.’

Taylor Sheridan is making his long-awaited return to the big screen with F.A.S.T., a high-stakes action thriller set up at Warner Bros. Pictures. The project has just added LaKeith Stanfield and Trevante Rhodes starring alongside Brandon Sklenar (1923), Jason Clarke, Sam Claflin, and Juliana Canfield (Y: The Last Man).

F.A.S.T. follows a former special forces commando (Sklenar), struggling to find his footing after returning home, who is recruited by the DEA to lead a covert strike team against CIA-protected drug dealers operating in his town. The new recruits will play a mix of DEA agents and the commando’s former Delta Force teammates, with production kicking off later this August.

Helming the feature is Ben Richardson — Sheridan’s longtime collaborator and lead director of 1923 — making his feature directorial debut. Sheridan, who penned the script, is serving as a producer alongside David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford of Heyday Films, and Jenny Wood of Bosque Ranch Productions.

Originally set up in 2018 as a vehicle for Chris Pratt with The Accountant director Gavin O’Connor attached, the film was delayed due to budget concerns and the pandemic. Sheridan’s focus on Yellowstone and its spin-offs further pushed the project to the backburner. Now, with a fresh cast and creative team, F.A.S.T. is moving full speed ahead toward its April 23, 2027 theatrical release.
