‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Returns to NBC as Part of Law & Order Thursday; NBC Sets Full Fall 2025 Premiere Dates

Surprise, surprise — Law & Order: Organized Crime is making its way back to NBC’s Thursday lineup this fall.

After moving exclusively to Peacock for its fifth season, the Christopher Meloni-led drama will now air a second broadcast run on NBC beginning Thursday, September 25, at 10 p.m. ET — back in its old time slot, following Law & Order and SVU. That makes it a full three-hour Law & Order block again, just like old times.

The move back to network TV wasn’t initially the plan. The switch to Peacock last year was made to push the show in a more serialized and darker direction. But word is, while the season leaned serialized, it didn’t go as dark as expected — making it broadcast-friendly and potentially ripe for a larger audience reach.

NBCUniversal hasn’t announced a renewal for Season 6 just yet. But this “windowing” move — giving the show a second life on NBC — could help them decide whether Organized Crime returns next on Peacock, or possibly back on network.

This reshuffling does delay Season 2 of The Hunting Party, which had originally been slated for that 10 p.m. Thursday hour. That show, starring Melissa Roxburgh, will now be held for midseason. In the meantime, it’s relocating production from Vancouver to New York, tapping into local talent the same way the Law & Order franchise has long done.

Elsewhere, sophomore drama Brilliant Minds starring Zachary Quinto returns Monday, September 22, at 10 p.m. ET, after the season premiere of The Voice (which also airs Tuesday night for its second hour). NBC is also rolling out On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, a twice-weekly unscripted competition series premiering Tuesday, September 30. Fallon leads a fictional ad agency with real clients, joined by marketing powerhouse Bozoma Saint John.

One of the biggest new additions this fall? NBA on NBC. The network’s highly anticipated return to professional basketball tips off Tuesday, October 21, with a doubleheader and pregame show.

Also of note: NBC’s hit comedies St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place return the week of November 3 with back-to-back episodes each night as the network preps for new comedy debuts. Tina Fey-produced The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, starring Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe, and Stumble, starring Jenn Lyon, are still in script and early development stages and will join the schedule later.
